He fell madly in love with the Irish actress Harriet Smithson. Samba was the generic name of the music employing a kind of rhythm, but there were different kinds of samba. Nice catchy lyrics with strong emotional content. Music’s ability to express human emotions and depict natural phenomenon was explored throughout the Baroque period. Phil Spitalny’s All-Girl Orchestra was one of the best-known groups of the 1930s, and other, more jazz-oriented ensembles included Ina Ray Hutton and her Melodears and the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, a popular group in the 1940s.
