Peng Dehuai’s memoir ( Peng 1984 ), although published in 1984, was written as a self-criticism during the Cultural Revolution. It began as a war to force or prevent the breakup of the United States. There were skirmishes all along the route during the 16th and 17th, but the main bodies were not engaged. The compiled service records of Indiana soldiers have not been microfilmed and are only available from the National Archives.
